I am a Seventh-day Adventist. I am born as one. And I am thankful. My parents were Seventh-day Adventist in their marriage lives. Well, my mother was a devoted catholic, a catechist, one who hails from a very conservative and devout Catholic family in Leyte, Philippines. When I have visited their place, I was overwhelmed by the Catholicism in that place. Talk abot how prejudice they were. But my mother left that place early in her life so she was able to study the Bible truthfully and with all her life when she married my father whose family was Adventist. No, Papa didn't convert Ma at all. She was just enthralled how her MIL was so dedicated to Bible Study. It was what led her to study the Bible secretly. And before she realized it, she's been attending church every Sabbath, following my Lola's (grandma) steps. Then she was baptized to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It wasn't all happiness though. She was even cast out by her very own family. It was unbelievable for them to have a family member who left their religion. But Mama persisted. And it's because of her courage and strength, along with her trust in God that helped her remain true and loyal to the Sabbath worship that we as kids are grateful for. So why I am a Seventh-day Adventist? Because I worship God on the seventh-day Sabbath of the week (like what He did and what we ought to do), not on the first day, and I am waiting for his second coming when He will take me home to be with Him eternally. I, along with the Seventh-day Adventists do have thses beliefs described by the Holy Scriptures in the following ways:
God's greatest desire is for you to see a clear picture of His character. When you see Him clearly, you will find His love irresistible.
Scripture is a road map. The Bible is God's voice, speaking His love personally to you today.
Jesus is the one who never changes in a universe that always does. Jesus is Creator, Sustainer, Saviour, Friend, God's Son, and God Himself!
God's vision for you is life as He lives it! God loves you, and wants to give you the highest quality of life imaginable.
In the heart of God is a place you can experience as home. God loves you, and wants to spend time with you personally, one on one, as two close friends.
In the upcoming posts that I'll be writing here will breadonws of each of those statements i've mentioned above. If anybody happens to read this post of mine here and left you wondering and in question, don't hesitate to drop me a line. I'd be more than willing to interact with you on this matter.
