He spoke, and galaxies whirled into place, star burned the heavens, and planets began orbiting their suns-- words of awesome, unlimited, unleashed power. He spoke again, and the waters and lands were filled with plants and creatures, running, swimming, growing, and multiplying-- words of animating, breathing, pulsing life. Again, He spoke, and man and woman were formed, thining, speaking, and loving-- words of personal creative glory. Eternal, infinite, unlimited-- He was, is, and always will be the Maker and Lord of all that exists.
When I first looked at photos of what a telescope saw, I felt moved with awe and wonder at the vastness of the universe in contrast to our tiny speck of the world. After examining mor ephotopgraphs, and after learning astronomy and science in school, it is a knowledge that astronomers have concluded that the universe has at least 125 billion galaxies. We live in the Milky Way Galaxy, which contains 50 to 100 billion stars! Then multiply 125 billion galaxies times at least 50 billion stars! I can't even begin to comprehend the total sum. And wonder of wonders, the Creator of them all "became human and lived here on earth among us."
Our creator takes a personal interest in each of us-- you and me! He knows all about us, even how many hairs we have in our head. Isn't it comforting enough? Our parents may think of abandoning and forgetting us but Jesus will never will.
